Are all Apple Watch bands the same size?

The 45mm and 41mm bands were only introduced to the market in September 2022 when the Apple Watch Series 7 was released, showcasing a larger screen. How do I know if my Apple Watch is 40mm or 44mm?
If you’ve found a new Apple Watch band that you’d like to purchase but you’re unsure of the size of your device, there are a few ways in which you can gather the information. Here’s how:
- Check the back of the Apple Watch
- Use the Apple Watch app
- Use a ruler
- Compare to another Apple Watch

A lot of people are unlikely to know this information because how many people look at the back of their device in detail? If you take off your watch and look closely at the back, you’ll see writing around the sensor. Here, you’ll find the exact size of your Apple Watch, as well as other information. - Using a flexible measuring tape, wrap it around your wrist, just above the bone. You can also use a piece of string for this.
- Mark on the measuring tape, either with a pen or your finger, where the two pieces of tape meet. If you’re using a string, do the same and then measure the length with a ruler.
- Now that you have the circumference of your wrist in millimetres, you can use the measurement to choose the right-sized Apple Watch band.
